Khuli Chana shot by police
SAMA award winning rap artist shot by police in a case of mistaken identity.Khuli Chana was allegedly shot by police in the early hours of Monday morning on his way home after stopping at a Caltex garage in Midrand. Police mistook the rappers car for that of a suspected criminal and opened fire on the vehicle injuring Chana in the hand, he also has shrapnel in his back.
Police were driving in an unmarked vehicle when they spotted a car matching the description of an alleged kidnapper. They fired two warning shots and then fired into the front of the car when it failed to stop.
Chana is recovering at home. Attempted murder is being investigated.
